As part of our topic work this week we drew famous landmarks in London, and shaded them with oil pastels to show both day and night.
At the beginning of this week we ensured that we were secure on our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and the links between them.
We have learnt about the United Kingdom this week during topic, and the four countries within, as well as their capital cities. We have then been extending our vocabulary and produced fantastic sentences which include nouns, adjectives, verbs and even adverbs!
During maths this week we have been perfecting our 5 times tables, and then looking at the links between the 2, 5 and 10 times table.
This week was Cherry Class' turn to collect litter from around the school site. Later in maths we will analyse our data. We were shocked at how much we found and learnt what terrible effects this has on our environment, especially plastic. However, we loved using the litter grabbers, and are all hoping that Father Christmas will bring one for us!
Thank you to everyone who came to our Pumpkin Soup Red Carpet Event, we had great fun preparing and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Following our Harvest Festival this morning, we all had the opportunity to make pumpkin soup, ready for our Red Carpet Event this afternoon. We hope you'll enjoy watching our performance and tasting our delicious recipe!
Over the past few weeks we have been learning about keeping safe online. We discussed using an avatar instead of posting our real names and had great fun designing one each, and then sharing our creations with the rest of the class.
We have been so busy this week during our maths sessions! We have perfected our 2 times tables and also ensured we know which numbers are odd or even.
We've had a fabulous time this week learning the beginning part of the story Pumpkin Soup, ready to recite at our Harvest Festival. During Topic we have enjoyed making story maps, story boards and improving our work with adjectives and by using a thesaurus.
On Monday we were visited by two teachers from our link school in Tanzania. They joined us on our trip into the village, where we sketched a picture of the church. We loved listening to them both describe their school, and also how different Tanzania is compared to our country.
Today we had great fun exploring Hadlow Village looking for both physical and human geographical features. We then created posters detailing these.
Barnies were really looking forward to our visit this week. We read stories about the seaside and scared them with Sid the Monster!
Our topic this term is 'Our World, Our Home'. Last week we wrote all about ourselves, whereas this week we have been looking at where we live. Today we looked at a map of the school, annotated it and added a key.
Every week three of us will have the opportunity to visit the children at Barnies to read them a story. The children really enjoyed our stories and wanted us to stay longer!
In maths we have been practising reading numbers in both words and digits. Today we were sorting them based on their similarities.
Today we were challenged to create the highest 3D tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows!
