We loved our whole school book swap! We spent the afternoon sharing stories with children around the school. We really enjoyed some of the older children reading to us and we read to some of the younger children. It was a really special afternoon.
We had so much fun on Tuesday visiting Hadlow Rural Community School! We participated in a Drama Workshop led by the Year Ten pupils and then we spent some time in the library listening to the Year Nine children read to us. It was fantastic to visit another school and spend time with the big children.

On Wednesday we had an Art afternoon. It was great fun! We created an under the sea collage using paint, wool, lolly sticks, gold material and shiny paper as well as lots of other things. As well as creating the sea we made a starfish, puffer fish, whale, shark, rocks, seaweed, dolphin, stingray, rainbow fish and jelly fish. Mrs Shrimpton then put all of the artwork on display in the hall along with the whole school story that we all wrote.

On Thursday some of our mums and dads came in to class to read with us. It was good fun sharing books together and we loved showing them our favourite books that we read in class.

We went to visit Hadlow Library on Thursday as well. It was lovely having lots of new books to look at and so many different choices to make. Then we made ourselves cosy and had a story all together. We should visit Hadlow Library more often!

On Friday we all dressed up as book characters. Here are our costumes.

Winter Wonderland

We have had so much fun at school today playing in the snow! Miss Chapman changed our lessons for the day so that we could explore the beautiful outdoors. We began by having a winter walk, we then gathered descriptive language to describe the landscape and we used this to write wonderful Winter poems. In the afternoon we did some Winter artwork and made beautiful snowflakes. What an exciting day!

Leeds castle

What a wonderful day we  had at Leeds Castle! We all made our Teachers and helpers incredibly proud with our lovely manners and super behaviour. The staff at Leeds Castle commented on what a pleasure we were!

We began by acting out the story of the Swan Princess in the castle grounds. We all had a special part to play and we all got to wear a costume... even the adults! We loved retelling this Fairytale and we linked the story setting to Leeds Castle itself. The helpers at Leeds Castle were blown away by our incredible acting skills... little stars in the making!

We then had our lunch in the Education Room, where we were watched by a pretty peacock. The beautiful creature was jealous about our scrumptious packed lunches!

After lunch, we attempted the tricky maze and after a bit of trouble, we reached the middle! We then travelled down into the spooky grotto and played in the magnificent adventure playground. We pretended we were knights trying to defend our precious castle!
Finally, we had a tour of the castle. We learnt so much about the different parts of the castle and castle defence. We can't wait to explore this further back at school!
