Cherry Term 6

Guess The Memory...

Cherry Class had a fantastic afternoon, full of laughs! Firstly we discussed our favourite memories in Year 2, which we collected in the form of a tally chart. Miss Chapman then put us into groups and secretly revealed one of the chosen memories for us to act out. We then worked privately in small groups to act out the memory before performing it to the rest of the class. Can you guess the memory?

Talent Swap Morning

In Cherry Class we have lots of amazing talents! Today, we were grouped according to our favourite talent and we had the challenge of creating something to share with the rest of the class. We were so proud of what we produced!

A Special Delivery

Today Cherry Class had some super special visitors from the Royal Mail who came to talk to use about the delivery of a letter. We met Lenny the Letter, Postman Pat, a Royal Mail minion and Tim, who came to talk to us all about his job in the Royal Mail. It was such an interesting morning and we learnt so much about how letters make their journey from one place to another. Tim said that Cherry Class were the most intelligent class he had ever taught (and he has travelled Kent teaching children!) as we answered every single question correctly.  We were so proud of ourselves and loved meeting Lenny and the gang!

Learning About Hindu Worship

Today we have been learning all about Hinduism. We have explored different Hindu Temples (Mandirs) and learnt about the Hindu tradition when visiting a Mandir. This includes removing their shoes to show purity, washing their hands and feet, ringing a bell to let God know that they have arrived and making offerings such as flowers, fruit, nuts and milk.

We then learnt about the God that Hindus worship. They have one main God called Brahman, who takes many different forms. We explored the different gods and goddesses represented by Brahman and then recreated them through our art work, The end pieces were stunning!

The Wedding of the Year!

The big day has finally arrived... the wedding of Amy and Joey-Lee! The service was kindly held at St Mary's Church by Reverend Paul White and was a truly magical experience. Of course, the real reason for the mock wedding was to help develop the children's knowledge and understanding of Christian marriage, but it didn't stop the Teachers from having a tear along the way! All children participated positively and played their significant role with confidence. A special well done to Amy and Joey for delivering their vows so beautifully. A truly special day for Cherry Class and a huge congratulations to the beautiful bride and handsome groom.
