We really like the new pinafores and would love them to be part of our school uniform. We like them because they are extremely comfortable and they make our school look smarter. In the summer they are very practical and the colours stand out. They also have some room for growth. Overall we think they are a great addition to the school uniform.

Today we had fun rolling our decorated boiled eggs down the mound. We rolled in groups of seven, and the winners rolled in the finale! We judged each other, and chose 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

In Art we worked on Impressionism; we painted a Mayan Temple, copying a picture from the board. We practised sketching with our paintbrush to fool the eye, and were only allowed to use a minimal amount of paint. We learnt that too much black would spoil our paintings!

This morning some parents came in to read to us, and to view our artwork we created together yesterday. We then went to the library where our parents also read to us, and we had the opportunity to look for new books.
Today we had an Art afternoon. We made 3D trees, buildings and massive collages. We worked alongside Year 3 and had a fabulous time making our own designs.
This morning we walked to Hadlow Rural School for a Drama Session and to share some books with older children. We had great fun - we did the Banana Song, freeze frames and played Splat.
As it is Book Week we were allowed to read to anyone in the school. Most of us chose to read and share our favourite books with our siblings.
On Monday the 26th of February, Mrs Martin came to our class and taught us how to play a piece of music on the harp. This was our first lesson out of 5. We can’t wait until our next session!

On Friday, in Art, we painted a colour wheel. We only had three colours to make different colours. We mixed the colours we had and made lots of new colours.

Safer Internet Day
On Safer Internet Day we did a play on how to be safe on the Internet when playing games. We performed plays on cyberbullying, pretending to be a different age and tracking. We learnt not to talk to people you don’t know and to always tell an adult what you are doing.
