Today we had special visitors . . .
For homework we created a poster/presentation on the British Values, and voted for our favourite.
Today we continued work on pointillism during our Art lesson. We hope you enjoy looking through the photos of our beach scenes. We have really enjoyed using this technique and have produced some amazing pieces of work!
In English we have been writing newspaper articles and descriptive paragraphs about Artemis Fowl. We have enjoyed every minute of it!
During English this week we have written graphic novel versions of chapter four from Artemis Fowl.
Today in maths we continued our work on 3D shapes and attempted to make paper versions.
In maths this week we undertook an investigation on 3D shapes, counting the edges, faces and vertices.
During ICT we are using computer programmes to create tessellated and semi-tessellated patterns, and we will soon be bugging and de-bugging code which may or may not form complicated tessellated shapes!
We have written secret messages in “Gnommish Code” from Artemis Fowl. Can you work out what they say?
In Art we have doing ‘Dot Art’. This is called pointillism, where we painted with ends of paintbrushes to make dots close together. We painted Porky Pig!
In maths this term we will be looking at geometry. This week we began identifying different types of triangles.
This week we began our new literacy topic, based on the book Artemis Fowl. Having only read the prologue, we initially tried to predict what the story was about and we used our imagination to design our own book covers.
