We collected data on the shoe size of the children in our class. We decided to make a big bar chart in the playground showing the frequency. We found out the most popular size was size 1.
Oak and Willow class went into Hadlow Village to collect data. We counted the colours of the cars going through the village and logged them in a tally chart. When we got back to school we recorded them into a bar chart.
We have been making dream catchers because the BFG catches dreams. They look scrumptious as the BFG would say!
We have been learning some French greetings this week and the children were excited to have a short conversation.
We have been learning about different lines and we have been finding them in real life. Parallel, perpendicular, horizontal and vertical lines.
We have been learning all about turns and using our angle knowledge to help us. We know that 4 right angles make one whole turn. We directed Mrs Wade from the book corner to the dream jar using the right directions. Outside we directed our partner around the playground using the correct vocabulary.
Science - Light
On Friday we learnt that darkness is the absence of light and we got to go into a cave made out of blankets!
This term we are learning about the BFG, we have started our English work in the witching hour and in role as Sophie, the children have written some lovely work. On Friday the children wrote a character description of the BFG using descriptive language.
This week we have been learning about right angles and we have also explored obtuse and acute angles. We had a look all over the school to find all of the different angles we could.
Welcome back to Term 5, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break! This week we have got straight back into our learning and have done some amazing writing and Maths already!
