Wednesday Yoga Sessions:
After only three weeks, Year 6 are making great strides with their yoga, peer massage and relaxation techniques. Every Wednesday morning we have a 40 minute yoga session followed by our mental maths test. This combination proves very successful in terms of confidence, wellbeing and progress. A typical yoga session will include: a breathing focus, stretching and core work, balance, coordination, peer massage and relaxation.
Well done everyone - keep up the hard work!
15th October 2017 - Year 6 Hadlow Walk:
Last Friday, Rowan Class completed an 8 mile walk around Hadlow and the surrounding area. We were so lucky with the weather and very much enjoyed the autumn sunshine. We enhanced our learning with a a real taste of the outdoors, with links to: Geography, English, Science and Art.
Sadly, we shocked to see so much rubbish on the paths and at the road side, all confirming the importance of this terms topic: Conservation - Save our World!
In maths we have been revising our understanding of Place Value and Number through discussion, use of resources, problem solving and visual representation.
Maths is an area in which rapid, accurate recall is vital to success; any extra work at home to help with number bonds, times tables and mental maths would be greatly appreciated.
Eric The Eco Warrior!
As part of our DT project work and our outdoor learning, Rowan class are making a life size scarecrow/mini beast hotel. He will also be on display, once completed, as part of the parish scarecrow competition. Watch this space for 'Eric' updates!
