What an incredible week! Year 6 have been extremely busy; we have been developing our skills and scientific enquiry through exploring, questioning and investigation.
We enjoyed an exciting trip to Hadlow College to meet a large variety of animals - the cockroaches and otters were firm favourites!
On Wednesday Year 6 ran the Science Fair, where they demonstrated numerous exciting experiments for the whole school to enjoy.
We also marvelled at the magic of dry ice, in addition to studying change of state and exploring various mystery packages.
The week finished with our Change for Life Day, we spent time discussing a healthy balanced lifestyle, made smoothies (including some fruits and vegetables that we hadn't tried before) and we even ran a mile!
What a super week, filled with fun and creative learning - well done everyone!
We started our topic this term with a group writing task focused on the prologue to The Adventures of Odysseus. A great start to the term, more exciting learning to follow soon...watch this space!
In year 6 we have been super busy covering the whole maths curriculum through discussion, using and applying, reasoning and additional challenge work. AMAZING effort and progress - keep up the hard work everyone!
Please make sure that you are also covering rapid recall of multiplication and division facts at home.
If you have any questions about SATs revision/preparation please contact Miss Hooper via the school office.
What an incredible week full of exciting animal adventures! We started the week by studying an extract from The Incredible Journey, then created a variety of different stories detailing the adventures of 'Basil The Pet Detective' (Mrs Stevenson's gecko). We then moved on to text analysis, poetry performance, music soundscapes and our amazing Big Build/Art Leaders project. Towards the end of the week we enjoyed a selection of different animal texts and genres, a trip to the library and we all dressed up, a fantastic range of book characters - super effort everyone!
