Weekly Update: 22nd - 26th March

As we come to the end of another busy week of learning I am noticing the pride and progress in all Rowan Class children - it is such a delight to see every child learning, remembering and, crucially, applying their skills and knowledge.

This week we have continued our mathematical revision and development with calculation review and a closer look at fractions. In English/History we have focused on our comprehension skills and retrieval with a fantastic 'Greek Murder Mystery.' We have continued to develop our writing skills with varied vocabulary choices and formality shift - amazing news articles and stunning non-fiction writing!

Now that the grass is a little drier, we have also enjoyed the field and even more outdoor learning with a GPS scavenger hunt, Team Challenges and a rehearsal for our much anticipated Olympic Games!

Our Greek 'pottery' is also looking fantastic and I am so impressed with the various designs and creations for the four teams ahead of our Olympic Games, weather permitting this event will take place next Tuesday - don't forget your PE kit!

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe,

Miss Hooper x

Weekly Update: 15th-19th March

What a brilliant week with so many wonderful achievements! smiley

Year 6 have worked incredibly hard this week - again I am delighted to be back and see you all face to face, you are such a lovely class and a total joy to teach!

We have continued our study of 'The Adventures of Odysseus' with a journey to the Land of the Dead - amazing descriptions; stunning imagery and wonderful storytelling! We have also spent the week looking into the world of an Ancient Greek Soldier - fascinating yet terrifying!

In Maths, we have continued to review our understanding of calculation and number - some astonishing progress, well done everyone!

And...we rounded off the week with a fun messy Friday: Outdoor Learning, Team Challenges, Tag Rugby and Paper Maché.

Well done everyone, keep up the great work and have a lovely weekend!

Weekly Update: 8th-12th March

Welcome Back! What a week we have had: jam packed with so much fun, catching up with friends and crazy weather! It is such a joy to see you all back in school and not on my computer screen! smiley

This week we have been very busy with our Ancient Greek learning - designing our own Olympics and starting our own independent study; 'Ketchup' maths sessions; lots of active, outdoor learning; Book Club; history through drama; half and half pictures, stunning creative writing and many different Team Challenges...the list of learning goes on and on...

I am so proud of you all, and it is so lovely to see all your amazing work and smiling faces in person!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hooper x
