Safeguarding Statement
Hadlow Primary School recognises the importance of providing an ethos and environment within school that will help children to feel safe, secure and respected; encourage them to talk openly; and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to. We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.
Everybody who works with our children has a duty to help protect them from abuse. All staff and visitors must know how to recognise possible abuse both within the school and externally. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.
It is the responsibility of all staff, governors, parents, families and pupils to play their essential role in making our school community safe and secure.
Our safeguarding team in school consists of Miss Chapman, Mrs Vanns and Mr Rule. In school, we have safeguarding posters in every classroom and in shared areas that are child-friendly to help children to recognise and respond to the signs of any type of abuse. We also have adult friendly posters and leaflets in our office area so that everybody in the school community is aware of the safeguarding team in place and how concerns are reported and responded to in our school.
