Term 2
This term we are reading and analysing ‘Street Child’ by Berlie Doherty.
A Victorian Christmas
We had a great time at Leeds Castle experiencing a Victorian classroom and a Victorian Christmas.
We had a taster as to how school life was life and realised how good we have it now. Our teachers are so much nicer.
We looked around the castle and it was decorated like Narnia. Then we met two ladies of the castle and had to either bow or courtesy and call them Ma’am. We had to be extra polite and respectful.
Then we had Victorian stories around the Christmas tree, our favourite story was about how the robin was named.
To end the day we sang ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ with actions. It was great fun.
Christmas with Santa
Science and DT
The class was tasked to design a rocket to the moon. They had to think about the cone shape and fins for their rocket in groups, discussing what the best design would be to reach further.
Each group chose a bottle to be their rocket and they designed their idea around the bottle.
Then it was time to make it!
Building our rockets
This week we have been using colourful semantics in our writing planning. We have been gathering descriptive words and phrases to help us to write an emotional letter.
