Today, we started planting in the allotment. Emmie’s family donated plants to the school. We planted lettuce, broccoli and spring onions. We also planted some marigolds to ward off black fly.
We are loving the new skipping ropes. We have learnt a new skipping song and some of us use the ropes to skip the daily mile!
Caught Being Kind
There is a new challenge in Chestnut Class, get ‘Caught being Kind!’ There are already a lot of photos on the wall to celebrate kind acts. These acts range from offering to help to helping an injured friend.
In Maths, we are using equipment to help model new ideas and explain concepts using mathematical language.
This week in PSHE, we have been learning about empathy. We watched a programme that showed authors and illustrators talking about using empathy to write stories. We learnt how to draw Pom-Pom the Panda with expressions on her face.
In Maths, we should explain our reasoning, this shows deeper understanding. Here we have shown our reasonning of a problem.
Here in Art, we are colour mixing ready to make a colour wash for our paintings.
In Science , we have made circuits using different components and considered safety with batteries and mains electricity.
