Week Three- 3rd-6th May

Congratulations, to the Year Four children that represented Hadlow School at a Handball Tournament. They scored seven goals across the event.  Organisers commented on the fantastic team spirit and sportsmanship from the group. What wonderful ambassadors for our school!

This week, we have written leaflets to attract holiday makers to take a trip to Italy. To make the sentences and paragraphs flow, we concentrated on connectives. In particular; imperative verbs, fronted adverbials and conjunctions.

Each week, we work on different spelling strategies. So many rules to remember!

In Geography, we have considered what the economy of a country entails. We traded geological and agricultural resources between Italy and France. Then we planned a tourism leaflet for Italy.

In Maths, we have continued to explore equivalent fractions through  different levels of challenges.

We have started planting and sowing seeds in our allotment plot.

Week Two- 25th-29th April

This week, we have learnt about a new genre, biographies. We researched and planned a biography about CS Lewis then wrote about his life.

In Maths, we have been learning to apply our fraction knowledge to problem solving. We have been introduced to pie charts.

Week One- 19th-22nd April

We have been learning about fractions of quantities. We know that the denominator indicates what to share the quantity into. Knowing our multiplication tables really helps with these calculations!

Easter Events

Here are the wonderful Easter Bonnets created by our class. We were all so impressed with the creativity and style. Well done, everyone.

The egg rolling was so much fun. After the first round of heats, the finals were repeated several times after some dead heats, too close to call! We finally had our top three.

Our new book for this term is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We have written conversations between the characters in the story.

This week, we used our map skills to identify some of the countries in Europe. This included Italy, our term topic.
