Plum Class Parent Meeting
Welcome to Term 1 of Plum class. We have a packed term full of great learning that builds on the children's previous learning from EYFS. We will be focussing on phonics, counting and number work and writing. We have already begun learning the alphabet and writing the different letters in upper and lower case. We have started our phonics learning and have been showing our skills with counting objects to 20.
The children have settled well and are very enthusiastic to learn.
Some important information
Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursdays the children will come home in their PE kits.
We have sent home reading books. Please ensure you read with your child at least 5 times per week. Please record this in the diary and return it each day.
In English this week we have been learning all about Beegu and we have been exploring how Beegu feels about crash landing on Earth. We have been writing adjectives and describing how she looks and feels.
This week we have been continuing to work on our English skills- we have been learning about nouns and adjectives. Capital letters and full stops and we have been using our senses to discover more about Autumn.
In Maths, we have been learning how to work out one more and one less. We have been fantastic at this and we are very good at reading and writing numbers to 20 and one more and one less.
In Science and Geography, we have been learning about the weather and how it relates to the seasons. We are recording the weather daily and looking at the different weather patterns.
In PE, we are learning the skills needed for Netball. We have been enjoying learning the different passes of shoulder pass, chest pass and bounce pass. We have also tried shooting too!
