School Council
What is a School Council?
A school council is a group of pupils elected by their fellow pupils to represent their opinions and raise issues with your headteacher in the school.
The school council can also take forward projects on behalf of the pupils, and be involved in planning and things like interviewing staff. To be effective, the school council must:
-
Represent all pupils and include as many people as possible
-
Take time to listen to all pupils and communicate their views
-
Feed back to pupils about what happened about their views
-
Make things happen – or explain why they can’t!
Our School Council for 2022-2023
The New Quiet Area
This year in School Council, we are improving the condition of the outside area. Currently, we are changing the school quiet area by moving the location and replacing the furniture.
March Update
The quiet area is now cleared and the flooring will be fitted shortly. The School Council will be helping to choose and purchase new resources such as stationery, books, colouring and games. A shade sail will be fitted to provide cover from the sun and the walls be freshly painted. Things will move very quickly once this has been done. Mr Pearce has taken charge of the outdoor sink and will hopefully be using his plumbing skills soon!
Three Year Plan
This is the outdoor improvement plan made by the 2021-22 School Council for the next three years. They have come up with ideas at meetings and collected ideas from their classmates. If you have ideas or ways you can help us achieve our plans, please contact Mrs Shrimpton via the school office.
